Sample Workshop
posted in Design, Print, by Damien Aistrope on 29th July 2010
It was just yesterday over beers and 10 pin bowling that Zann and myself were discussing that we don't see enough studios coming through from WA on INfront. So it is with pleasure that I can show you Sample Workshop. Fantastic work and their blog is lovely too.
Yes, we are in a bowling team... not a very good one mind you.
James Reka - Outside Infinity
posted in Art, Exhibits, Events, by Brad Eastman on 28th July 2010
Melbourne based artist James Reka will be showing his latest collection of works titled 'Outside Infinity' at 19 Karen Gallery, 19 Karen Ave, Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast, QLD. The show opens this Saturday 31 July 2010 6-8pm and continues until 28 August. With influences in pop culture, cartoons and illustration, Reka creates his own world of mysterious creatures that communicate though colour and movement, based around the style of abstracted fantasy and surrealism. Reka's new paintings are amazing... this show is not to be missed if you are up north.

See-Saw

See-Saw
'a collection of short stories'
25 students, 5 mentors, 1 story.
I’ve been invited to be a mentor in a 2 day Sydney Design 2010 project titled See-Saw. Last weekend I got to meet the 4 students I’ll be mentoring at Gaffa Gallery where we’ll be participating in the project (as well as where the project will end up being displayed). Each one of them is from a different design school (COFA, UTS, Billy Blue and Enmore) and all of them have been specially selected by their respective schools to represent. To say that I’m pretty excited about the project is an understatement!
