I have had it with my bookkeeping software.
I use Billings and for the most part I have muddled along for 7 years but after upgrading my OS to El Capitan, Billings has bitten the dust. F**K!
So I am either forced to upgrade the program and pay a subscription* or I can find a different program that is better (and probably end up paying a subscription as well).
So, as a freelancer what do you use?
*I hate paying for subscriptions to programs, it is the ultimate rort.

Writing Bios are the worst! I've had to write a few this year and struggled each time - they were for different things so I couldn't rehash.
I had a few people give me some points or ideas - what do you think of me? How do you see my design in --- sense?
then I wrote and wrote and wrote and then edited it then sent it to my editor and she took the blue pencil to it.

Authors rarely if ever own to copyright to their book covers unless they self publish.
You would need to contact the publishers, being educational textbooks here are only a handful of Australian Ed publishers so it shouldn't be too challenging.
You will need permission to reproduce the images and most publishers are happy to help libraries and booksellers so you may even get lucky with sales kit images (hi res files)

Okay, I think I got it - for those of you who are interested.
I have uploaded my file using Folio Producer to the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite online - and then downloaded to my iPad, which I can view through the Adobe Viewer app.
I can disconnect from the internet and the file says on my iPad (because I have downloaded) it.
I have not hit 'publish' in the Folio Producer organiser because I don't want to share or publish it, it is private for me and my clients.
So this seems to be working for me.
As a print designer I don't work with lots of whistles and bells regularly but my little portfolio sure looks flashy with a few drop down menus and interactivity.
But the process was laborious and I had to download and sign up and sign in to numerous sites and apps.

@Gidget what exactly are you looking for? My startup has evolved from straight payments to have revenue reporting and lightweight CRM features. We're targeting people who are too busy for spreadsheets but who don't need something as full blown as Xero (we do integrate with them though).
We're pretty agile, so if we don't have a must have feature let me know, I might be able to make it happen quickly.
