Hey how's it going?
I'm Jeremy Thomas Webb, I've in Melbourne, I'm an animator in training and I'm here to post about my idea and to ask for help. :) This is my first time at this so here we go :)
I've been working on a crossover series project a while now called Kung Fu Panda Doctor Who. I realize it seems a bit out there but please hear me out. This is something I've been working since 2013 and I am determined to get it done in some shape or form.
Kung Fu Panda Doctor Who is going to be a 2D animated Crossover Series based on the two Popular franchises produced by the BBC and DreamWorks Animation Studios. This is a Non Profit, fan produced project purely made for enjoyment. This Animation is planned to go for 3 Seasons with Holiday special for the end of each season. The Series will be presented in 45 min episodes. The show’s main setting is the Kung Fu Panda universe where the Doctor crosses over to under the circumstances of the first story ‘Who’s Destiny?”. In this particular universe, humans don’t exist, instead a race of talking animals called Anthropedians live on the planet Earth and magic is more dominant than science. In hope of returning to his own universe but at the same time, the Doctor tries to make the most of the situation and is keen to explore this new realm he finds himself in. Along the way the Doctor befriends a young teenage Panda named Po, the same Po who will grow up to become the Dragon Warrior in years to come. Unaware that he actions putting the course of history at major risk, the Doctor allows Po to join in his travels across the universe and it is not long before they are joined by the spirited young Kassy. A teenager Border Collie with amazing Martial Shape Shifting powers. Together the Trio take on many challenges, face many foes and relish in the fun and thrills that the universe has to offer. But in the Background, ancient and strange forces never seen or heard before are at work.
I've planned out rough outline of how the series is going turn out. I know how long it's going to go for and how many episodes there going to be. At the moment, I'm still in the writing stage for Episode One (a.k.a: the Pilot) as my main focus. But I've been struggling with the story, trying to make the plot as strong as I can and so forth. Bottom Line, I need help hence I am on the lookout for a Writing Partner! Someone i can meet up every so often and work on it together. Someone who knows the material and who i can bounce off ideas with. I've seen many productions with A writing team of sorts especially with animation so if anyone out there is interested in this project then PLEASE REPLY TO THIS POST :D
There's just a couple of terms though:
1. You've got to be a fan of Kung fu panda and Doctor Who, or at the very least interested in stuff like this.
2. You must be willing to meet up to work on the script. I am not prepared to do all of the work through Social Media like Facebook. Trust me, it's better doing face to face on this sort of thing. But I am open to communication through it all the same.
I'm open to new ideas and my friend suggested trying one of this forums so here I am asking. I really want to get this project moving and I really hope I can meet enthusiastic writers who just as dedicated to projects like this. Plus keen to meet new people and learn what I can about the art of story writing as well. I should also mention that this is purely a fun personal project that is in no way trying to rip off Kung Fu Panda at DreamWorks or Doctor Who at BBC. Doing this project is a way to help further my skills in what I want to do in life. Please bear with me; this is legit, I am actually putting the effort into make this. It is not going to be something left unfinished I AM going to see this through to the end of the series. I am trying to put this as close as I can to the real show and movies as I can. Keeping it with in the continuity of Kung Fu Panda and Doctor Who as best I can. This means NO love pairings (Sorry TiPo Fans), NO bad language and NO gory violence that is seen in MA 15+ films and so on.
The reason why I want to do something like this is one because I love to draw and this is something I want to do as a career. This is just fun project to do and all rights of both franchises go to the BBC, NICKELODEON AND DREAMWORKS. Second because I have seen other people doing similar projects like fan films and having a lot of fun with them and I thought why not?!
So yeah, if anyone's interested then let me know and I will reveal more of the plot and we can chat further.
So who's up for the challenge :D
UPDATE: I've found my writing partner. So I'm all sorted :) But I'm open to writers who are interested in taking part so don't hesitate to respond to this post if you're interested and we can talk it through.
