I'm willing to earn my stripes! I am VERY aware of the crap I got to go through to earn my place and I want to prove myself. All I got to do now is someone who will give me the chance to prove it!!

@Scotty, thanks for the welcome :) hehe. Good to be back on here!
Great advice! Thanks for that. It is something to think about in terms of making the charge for a change the same as the amount I charge for
@Looney thanks! I have a better understanding about it all now. I'm always on the lookout
to learn something new about the creative lifestyle, and I'm grateful to know we can share this knowledge :)

@tpaindesign although not specifically networking events, networking is one of the main components. As i mentioned, working with people is the best way to get to know people and their skills.
Learning new skills and approaches is the other main component.. and if all goes well, it results in the creation of a great/viable project.
With the more commercial/startup hackathons such as launch48, "angel investors" are also head hunting and searching for projects to invest in..
i will post details of Februaries event when details are confirmed :-)

Hi @tpaindesign - pretty sure we did, it's just not available in the search results due to the rebuild. If not, we may of not been informed about it. The schools that are proactive with their PR 99% of the time get listed. You can see 2011's post here http://www.australianinfront.com.au/news/article/minus-the-rough

Oop, didn't even realise people had replied!
I landed to job at CHE (Clemenger Harvie Edge), which is now CHE Proximity. It's in Richmond, Melbourne. Woot.
Thankyou all very much! I'm almost (?!) two months in and loving every minute of it.
::I hope to be in the same position as you very soon! :)::
@TPainDesign - hang in there. See every experience as a chance to learn. Try to find some good and some lesson in everything!

@tpaindesign with that flickr link, the easiest way to get it into the forum is to right click the image and select "view image" then paste that link
which looks like this: farm8.staticflickr.com/7203/6977537017_a48e33fe56_b.jpg
but with http:// at the front.
which is actually what Scotty was saying.
also, jaydenosborne, some very nice work.
