I am a graphic and textile print designer, letterer, illustrator and a calligraphic aficionada.
Originally from Catalonia, I moved to Australia in 2006, where I secured a company who sponsored me as a lead graphic designer for 3 years.
In 2011 I studied a Postgraduate Course in Advanced Typography in Barcelona, and in 2012 a Typeface Design Condensed Program at Cooper Union in New York City.
In 2011 I co-founded a textile and print design studio called MarchTwentyTwo in collaboration with fashion designer Laura Piera. The studio is focused on art prints, limited edition scarves, calligraphy workshops and other analogue crafts.
Nowadays, I split my time between Melbourne and Barcelona working on textile prints, illustration commissions, lettering projects and calligraphic personal development.
I am currently teaching various calligraphy workshops in Melbourne.
“The Shit Series” is an experimental personal project using different calligraphy styles to write common Australian expressions using the word shit.
The inspiration behind these series is my Catalan Christmas celebration’s background. On Christmas Eve we celebrate the “caga tió” (Christmas log that shits presents). We also feature the “caganer” (the shitter) in the Christmas nativity scene.
See below my shit series in progress, the inspiration behind each post and the tools I have used to create them.
