Anyone know of a decent reference or two for advertising / logo illustration work from the pre 60s? A bit non specific there, but kind of like this stuff, but better -
Websites, book titles, welcome. I've looked at the Taschen "All American Ads" series, but they're more full colour and photos. Any suggestions appreciated :)
Just stumbled across this guys work which is really good.
I've a few books about 40's-50's ad and logo illustration somewhere. I'll try and find what they're called.
Chip Wass also does some really nice retro based stuff but I think that's a bit more 60's.
Lots of duotone here:
cool!! i'd love a 50's project.....maybe i'll just do one :D
I've been looking for an excuse to do some Tiki.
Sweet! Cheers for that.
That stuff is wicked cool- especially from Timba Smits. His work is incredible.
