Are you looking for examples of "happy logos"?

or

what comes after "happy logos"?

Either way, the new Wacom logo still makes me shudder.

Going to bed :D

Sounds like this should be a fun job. What does the client mean by happy though (literal or abstract/mood)?

I would maybe start with sailor art/tattoos to get the ball rolling, that is if this is a possible angle they wish to pursue and fitting "to the cause/product".

Something like good luck omen type ones that would bring about cheer in treacherous times at sea maybe?

The first thing that sprang to my mind was traditional tattoos.
I've been working on a tattoo based viral for the past two weeks and I did some sailor ones that didn't get used.
You're welcome to them.
