I don't mind the logo, but while I'm obviously aware of the work that goes into a logo/rebrand so can understand a certain level of costs involved, it does seem like a lot, especially for a government/tax-funded body.
I love the honesty of the gold colour! I too, find the typography to be underwhelming.
I find the article's use of the 'half a million' price tag frustrating and misleading, given that $200,000 of that went on refitting. Perhaps I'm just getting touchy about the perceived lack of value from design with these big rebranding projects ;)
