My camera has started playing up on me, and trying to work out if it's a simple SD card issue, or a camera problem that may require a new one.
The camera started taking longer and longer to record a photo to the card, and then in preview mode for some images it would only show a low quality thimbnail rather than the full image. Then eventually the card was unwritable and unreadable, couldn't even bee seen via my computer card reader.
So I tried another card (both SanDisk) and the same thing happened. Started out fine, gradually (over a few hours, couple dozen photos) got worse until becoming unwritable/unreadable again.
Then I reformatted one of the cards to see if that would make a difference. Tried that out, and after just a dozen or so pics same thing has started to happen. I can still read the card at the moment, but when I try to look at the photos via my computer, I see the below. I can see a few of the photos still, but the rest have become corrupted in some way.
So can anyone tell me if this is likely to be a card issue or a more serious camera issue?
I had a similar problem with my old canon, but the issue was with the speed of the compactFlash card used. (That maybe why a second card was just as buggy, if they were the same speed.)
Had to do with the camera trying to write files to a slow SD media, especially in burst mode.
Find a 400x card and give it a go befor swearing at the camera again.
