from a design point of view its pretty good. from a technical point of view its just ok. it definitely has it limitations but great for small low sku stores. i find most things can be accomplished by making your own app. but if you want to go crazy with things like product filters etc. you're probably gonna be stuck using tags and smart collections. what are you planning on doing?
Thanks @Blind. I'm still working that out!! The customisation would mostly be design related though. Still working out the details with the client but I thought I'd ask around before promising anything.
Apologies in advance for the long story, but **if there are any devs here familiar with Shopify and want to give this a crack, please email me at nick(at)underdogdesign.com.au**
So I have been working with Shopify and realised there is a variant cap at 100 product variants. I got on to Product Options (Shopify app which gets around the variant problem): https://apps.shopify.com/product-options
I was quoted a fairly large price for the developer to add the swatches.. and then double that for them to change the product image!! That seems excessive to me - and I would have thought (maybe naively) that there wouldn't be much more work involved - but if anyone is familiar with this app or Shopify and wants to send me a quote for this, please get in touch.
