@scotty – Yep, it was Mike Meyer! Yeah he's a boss. I love sign painting, I wish it was something I could really spend more time on but on top of design, making art paintings, running my own clothing brand, shooting photography, making video art, I just have no time :'( – If I could get an apprenticeship doing it, I'd be totally up for it though haha.
I had a look and it'd cost around £660GBP + travel to either London or Amsterdam + accommodation + spends (space cakes if Amsterdam, stab vest if London).
Not a cheap do! :(
I too love sign painting.
I was torn between studying Graphic Design or going one the last traditional sign painting college courses in the UK and I chose GD which was probably the best choice as vinyl killed the industry.
Thing is, I was also sought traditional hand typography/lettering at college and did a lot at a newspaper I worked at so I feel I just need to get my brush work up to speed.
You sound like you're in the same boat as me.
I'm trying to improve my After Effects, Launch my own clothing label plus loads more but I feel it calling to me.
