I'm about to get my portfolio printed. I'm working on this for the last couple of weeks and until now I'm pretty happy how it came out. But I really could need some feedback in general and maybe some advice here and there. The idea is to pack the printed brochure with some stickers ans buttons into a poly bag (like the ones you can use to protect your comic books :) In the middle of the brochure is a poster (the pages with the red background) - so people have something they can keep or collect.
Looking solid Seb, give or take but the the about page could be more inviting to the rest of the portfolio, treat it like a moodboard, table of contents, a good cross section of whats ahead (think of movie trailers) or like your last page which is intriguing.
Regarding the print section, you could follow the layout of web, change colours etc or if not that just move your type to the top left of the page which may help relieve that cramped look.
thanks for your feedback! Sorry for not pointing this oit before: the pics in the t-shirt section are just placeholders - I will get some decent model photos soon from a photographer I know. But the allover look will stay the same. Same with the pic on the last page with all the stuff. It's gonna be my stuff. Right now it's a photo from the web to give you the idea.
@Dan: yeah, quite a niche market. But I really want to score some jobs in the skateboard/actionsports business. So I think it wouldn't make much sense to show some typical graphics like business cards, letterheads and brochures.
@Bjarni: Thanks man. I really appreciate your feedback. There will definitely be a table of contents - but I had to change so much that I'll do it when I'm shure what to put where, haha :)
Thanks for the idead to move the type to the top left. Looks way cooler and cleaner.
Ill post an updated version as soon as I made the last changes.
Thanks @Aldous ! Fixed the missing text and now it's ready for printing. I will post some pics of the result. I wish I would be in Sydney right now but I'm based in Cologne, Germany. So there's not much skating going on at the moment because it's snowing outside :) But we have some nice indoor pools over here...
