Eleven years ago the first Semi-Permanent was held in Sydney. Today it has grown into the beacon for creatives across the globe which is punching figures that simply astound me.300+ Speakers, 250,000+ Attendees, 40 Exhibitions and 36 After Parti...
In grade four there was a competition within my classroom to see who could draw the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. It was a fierce competition but by the end it came down to me and Robin Martin AKA Mr Popular. His Leonardo was well executed but, in my opinion, no match for my Michelangelo. Victory would be mine.
However it wasn't to be, Robin's Leonardo won by six votes. My ego was shattered. Second, in this case, was definitely not best. From that day forth I swore a silent oath, never again would my creativity be deemed second best. I have since then continued to develop my skills and have also learnt to be much more humble along the way.
So you could say Robin Martin is the reason I'm creative today, he gave me the initial motivation to stick at it all these years. However I would say I'm creative today because once I started truly appreciating how great it was to do something you love every day, I could never give it up.
