I've created my own stamps with rubbers (erasers) and japanese wood carving tools.

But when I've needed finer lines or bigger stamps (A4) - I go to this joint (based in Melbourne). http://www.dialastamp.com.au/

I'd recommend getting a self inking stamp - the novelty of stamping a shitload of cards (via a ink pad) can wear off pretty fast. :)

@Justinfox looks great, I find that if its bleeding in on the fine detail, instead of pressing down on the stamp, hold the stamp in place with one hand and with the other hand give the stamp a 'quick slap'.

@KATJABAK, I had two stamps made up, a standard stamp for the name and a self inking stamp for the contact details.

@Scratchy - I noticed that, pressing down hard makes it much worse. Love how it's all very inconsistent though! :)

@monteboyd - Too right. I've just got to get around to vectorising the little fella :)
