Not sure of the exact date, but it was around this time ten years ago I joined InFront. I was in my first year of a multimedia diploma and found it while looking for freelance work. Which I found here.
Those landing pages gave the site some personality and unique identity. Now it's the same minimalistic flatness that every other site has. I think the place is going the way of port80... slowly dying off.
The way people communicate online has changed, social media has impacted many forums. Doesn't mean this will die however, we will just change how those comments are integrated into the site.
I've been a member of Infront since 2000, a contributor since 2003 - the last few years of Infront is the most active it has ever been in terms of events, projects, updates, redesigns and so forth.
Sure, Off Topic is not as active as it was back in 2003 / 2004, but I also feel the forum has become a better place because of it. Less people getting ripped down and more people with positive contributions.
Infront celebrates 15 years next year. That's pretty amazing in my opinion.
