We're looking for a talented mid-weight designer to join our small design team based within the Marketing Department. In this dynamic role, you will get to contribute design ideas and solutions that help us to achieve the overall objectives of world-class marketing campaigns; from early stage conceptualising right through to end-stage execution.
This role has a digital focus but it will touch all of Penguin Random House Australia's marketing design activity.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
•Undertaking early stage conceptualising, development and internal pitching of ideas that align with campaign objectives
•Working closely with digital marketing team and relevant IT stakeholders to develop consumer-facing digital channels, particularly the company website
•Designing internal and external business communication collateral
•Adopting an agile approach to planning and design work, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring delivery to time, budget and brief
•Delivering innovative designs to a high standard for usage in marketing and advertising collateral for Penguin Random House and related brands
•Working effectively with inter and intra-departmental colleagues, collaboratively and communicating effectively through all stages of projects
•Assisting other members of the design team including peers and juniors to develop their skills and capabilities
•Supporting and maintaining the systems and processes that underpin the day-to-day work of the design team.
Tertiary qualified in Graphic Design or a related discipline, you will be a confident Designer with at least 3 years' experience in a similar environment. In addition, our ideal candidate will possess the following:
Mandatory Qualifications/Experience Required:
•High level skills in Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Animate
•Experience in creating digital display ads, social media assets and website assets
•Experience with front-end web design and working with technical developers on implementation
•Familiarity with current design techniques
•Proven ability to manage standalone design projects
•A strong understanding of licensee and copyright requirements
Please note this is not a graduate position. Applicants must demonstrate experience working in an agency or organisation in an internal design capacity.
Experience with After Effects is not mandatory, but will be highly regarded.
