Stick Folk by Tom Civil. A modern contemplation of the Australian landscape, in aerosol.
As either diminutive sprites in his paintings or as bold tags across walls, the Stick Folk are central to Tom Civil’s current work. They are an Aussie punk mashup of May Gibbs and Michael Leunig and they represent Tom’s personal connection to the bush and the city.
Stick Folk is a collection of 25 paintings on found object material and canvas, 9 etchings, a sculpture and installations. Opening on Friday the 2nd of May until Sunday the 11th May.
